Oak and Ward and GP Marquees are both small businesses owned and ran by Nick Ward in Oxfordshire. GP Marquees provide luxury marquees for hire at events across the UK. While Oak and Ward provide all of the beautiful pieces to hire at events and to sell to individuals. All of the rustic furniture is made from scratch by Nick himself. GP Marquees began in 2003 but Oak and Ward is a fairly new venture yet has had huge success. There is the option to hire equipment such as Solid Oak Tables, Table Top Servers and Oak Favours, for events such as weddings or parties which has all been pre made. On the other hand, there are stunning items made to order to buy and have in your home. In the Rustic Furniture Making Industry, China Plywood is what is often used to make the furniture yet Nick has developed his own UK version which offer shorter lead times and are more unique. The legs of the tables are made from metal and Nick single handedly developed a folding leg system to help transport the tables; which is very effective when hiring them for large events. The metal legs are cut by a laser company in Yorkshire and appeal to many people due to the bar that runs across the middle of the legs that keeps stability and stops the tables wobbling. The chair legs are also easy to remove and convert so are flexible to adhere to the customer’s needs.

Nick at Oak & Ward uses our Rectangular Inserts to fit in the end of the metal tube legs for the rustic tables. Our inserts essentially finish the tables off so they are ready to be sold or hired to customers. The issue Nick was looking to fix is to avoid the damage to the floors with the bare metal ends of the chair legs. The scratches can be very costly and can ultimately mean laying a new floor! By finishing the table with an insert, it is the cheapest way of protecting the floor and finishing the table off. The inserts fit flush into the leg so are not overly visible and distracting from the main piece which is the table itself!
It is much cheaper to replace the feet for the table then replace the entire table, especially a beautiful handmade rustic one like these are.
