Annual Business Meeting with visit from USA Directors

This week at Sinclair & Rush UK has been a busy one indeed! It has been non stop meetings and presentations with each department for our annual company meeting. We were fortunate enough to be joined by our fantastic business leaders, Troy Wesley -  Chief Financial Officer USA S&R, Joe Thomas - Director of Information Technology in USA S&R and Mark Osborn - Managing Director of UK branch.

The week has been filled with Sales and Marketing updating our Leaders with the successes and improvements for the future including UK & Europe Sales Updates, Account reviews/growth / attrition and trends, top prospects, marketing update, trust pilot review, as well as new business systems and processes and much, much more! Accounts, HR & Customer Service have all had their individual meetings to run through where they are at in their departments and any areas of improvement. The feedback from above has been real praise and recognition of the hard work delivered by all teams. We are so proud of each and every one of our staff for working so hard and taking ownership and responsibility for their individual roles. This really is what makes a successful business!

Similarly, it is vital for the entire team to meet up on an annual basis as we are worldwide and the difference within UK, USA, China, Australia & our European Hubs, differs so it can be difficult to get a real sense of how each other is doing! We do our best at Sinclair & Rush to keep our family as connected as possible.  We also still have a big proportion of the admin team working from home. So it is very important, now more than ever that we are sharing and communicating so we do not feel disconnected. We can certainly say after our meetings week that we feel we have caught up with one another and even managed a lunch together!

Likewise, we caught up about the Sales Team in the UK now doing a day a week back in the office. After three years, we decided only a few weeks ago that having a day a week in the office for sales would be a great boost and support for all the team. There are always questions and conversations that need to be had and we now know that on a Thursday we can get these face to face interactions and support!

Following on, on Thursday 18th May of our company meeting, the Managers from each department got together for an Emotional Intelligence Workshop ran by Lynn Leahy a Learning Facilitator, Mentor & Coach. Lynn is an experienced company Director who has worked with teams and individuals at all levels across four continents for more than 25 years. She has an exceptional track record of helping companies effectively face change.

Lynn's workshop is all about the topics of emotional intelligence and leadership. Daniel Goleman who popularised the concept of EI defined it as: “The capacity for recognising our own feelings and those of others, and for managing emotions in ourselves and in our relationships”. Research has suggested that exceptional leaders have flexibility in their leadership styles. They can act quickly when necessary and are prepared to take charge if a real crisis necessitates this. They also understand the importance of developing staff though and are thus motivated to use other leaderships styles including coaching their staff. The session was interactive, practical and fun. It really is so important to create a culture of trust and honesty within each department to ensure job satisfaction and therefore create a business with little turnover. Our Management team felt this has developed their leadership skills and are looking forward to implementing this practically into the working week! HOME | lynnleahy (lynnleahytalks.com)

We want to thank our Directors for joining us for our departments meetings and being such welcoming and warm leaders. We are lucky to have this close team like that of a family!
