S&R | Remote Working into 2022

As the world continues to debate best working practises and structure following a perspective altering crisis, we have decided to capitalise on our new found agility and flexibility. Our key focus has been and will continue to be keeping our Team Members safe and limiting the risk of an outbreak in either of our Manufacturing Facilities. With record-breaking demand across Vinyl Dip Moulding, Injection Moulding, Extrusion and Distribution, we cannot afford any prolonged closures if we are to continue meeting delivery schedules in 2022.

To this end, since leaving the offices in March 2020 with our computer screens tucked under our arms, we have not looked back. Following the initial, agonising month or so faced by most of the office-based population of the country, our teams have made the best of new working environments and changed their outlook on how home life and work life can sit together, literally in the same room. Our Operators can utilise more space and have less interactions to help keep chance of infection low. Regular testing across all departments and sites as well as continued social distancing and use of PPE means we have been able to continue producing parts. 

Having previously taken the decision not to bring the remote workers back, we have limited further disruption and allowed everyone to really adapt to the 'new world' as we see it at S&R. As we enter a new calendar year, our approach is consistent, we want to protect our people and keep the Factories producing and Warehouses shipping. We have created socially distanced Hot Desk offices and a large, ventilated meeting room for essential training and Team Meetings when video just won't cut it. 

The priority for our Remote Teams (Sales / Customer Service / Accounts / Purchasing / Projects) is to provide the same levels of service and availability as always. To achieve this goal we have invested in;

  • IP Telephone System with Desktop access
  • Cloud Based CRM 
  • Video Call Stations at all sites and VPN for security

We have ensured that we are available on the same Direct Dials and main Office Numbers as before and that email and enquiry forms are all monitored. We have operators available for 'Live Chat' during office hours.
