Since the Pandemic, the way we work has dramatically changed with little chance of it going back to how it was, pre-covid. Many businesses have decided to keep their Office Staff at home because it's more cost effective to the Business & it gives their employees a little more flexibility and a better work life balance.
Recently we put a poll out to the public on social media about working from home. We asked you...
"Of those who have been, or still are, Remote Working. What do you prefer? Remote, Office or a Mixture?"
Interestingly, no one put "Office" on its own. It appears this new way of working has become quite popular amongst the public! Yet, there was a nice even split between the other two answers, 50% said "Remote" and 50% said "Mixture".
It seems that although half love the working from home life, half like a mixture of the two. Doing a bit of both means your weeks are broken up & you still get that face to face interaction with your colleagues. Likewise, it really helps with productivity and efficiency, as motivation can decrease without the team moral. Having said this, Microsoft Teams & online video calls are an amazing way to stay connected but there's nothing like a good old fashioned face to face conversation to keep the energy alive! That's why at Sinclair & Rush, we think its important to get the remote teams together every so often so we can lift the moods of those that need it. In our recent Sales Team training, the team all got together at our local Hotel which had a great impact on team moral, it has seen them through till the next time! We also encourage our teams meeting up socially, outside of working time, so we don't lose those great bonds that so many of our employees have.
Since the pandemic, we have had new starters in our remote teams, and without these regular meetings in and out of work, we may never meet them or know what they look like if we saw them in the street! How crazy is that?
