National bring your dog to work day

National Bring your Dog to Work Day.

On 23th June each year it is National Bring your Dog to Work Day and since the Pandemic it has completely changed business life for many companies, putting safety above all and setting up home working environments. Sinclair & Rush are no exception to this. Those that could work from home during Covid 19 did, and we had such success from it, happier and more productive staff with a great work life balance. Due to this, we have continued it even after it was safe to return. We do now however have hot desking and one day a week some departments come in to the office to work together, which is the best of both worlds!

Naturally, being at home means for us and many others in the world, its bring our dog to work day, everyday! Just for fun we asked all of our remote workers to send in photos of their precious pooches at work with them so we can share some heart warming photos with you all. Just scroll through the photos to see a few collages of beautiful dog babies and see below a little bio about them.

We have the Cheeky Chug (Chihuahua / Pug Cross) Ronnie, Ellie in Sales pride and joy.

Next up is, Frank, Olde Tyne English Bulldog with his adorable cleft pallet and lip who is Jodie in Customer Services baby boy.

Thirdly, we have Buddy  he is an adorable Jack Russell that loves to be heard with his yap! David, our Team Leader in Sales is the proud owner of this cutie.

We have Jarvis, crazy doggy with a wonderful nature. He is a Beagle and Cockapoo cross. Sales Manager Allan's fur baby.

Next we have Jimmy, who enjoys helping Nathan in Sales with his calls, (looking good with that headset too!) He is a Schnauzer / Poodle = Schnoodle!

And last but not least, we have Geoffrey, the absolutely adorable Golden Retriever looking so dapper in his tie and all ready for a day of home working!

What a beautiful selection of doggies and interestingly, studies show that pets are paramount for our mental health. They assist in giving us a mental break during a stressful day due to their easy going and "happy just to be with us" nature, lots of businesses now have actual rooms set up for pets so staff don't need to leave their dogs at home, they have their own play room and can be walked at lunch time. This is a win win situation as dogs in particular also love  the company so everyone is happy.

According to, headspacegroup.co.uk, "Caring for our mental health is more important than ever and having a dog around can help with that enormously. It is scientifically proven that a pet can reduce a plethora of mental health issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression."

You are more likely to have a happier workforce that enjoy working with the business if their mental health is in good shape and they have a good work-life balance. Pets make situations and life light hearted so during a stressful work time, dogs in particular help flip the mood into a positive one and rid of negative energy.

Similarly, having a pet at work means you are likely to take breaks to walk them because you have to, and these exercise breaks are fantastic for mental wellbeing.

So if you have the space practically and safely, why not plan in some time to bring your dog or other pets to work..

You can donate to the many Dog Charities they support through this link too, and just for fun you can upload you photos of your pooches and tag them at @BringYourDogToWorkDay #BringYourDogToWorkDay  (We have sent our photos to them!)

Have a great day on National Bring Your Dog To Work Day and keep well!
