Custom Phthalate-Free Grips Support Inclusive Toilet Aid Design
Sinclair & Rush was recently approached by a company developing an innovative support aid designed to assist children, short-statured individuals, and other adults when using the toilet. The product combines a modular footstall, armrests, and a support handle, allowing users to customise the configuration to suit their individual needs—without compromising stability or performance.
The unique selling point of the product is its flexible design. Users can build and adjust it freely, making it highly adaptable for diverse requirements in homes, schools, and care settings.
As part of the development process, the client needed grips manufactured from phthalate-free material—a non-standard request for Sinclair & Rush. The enquiry was quickly escalated to our technical custom requirements team, who worked alongside Sales Executive Pierre to source a suitable alternative.
After thorough consultation, a suitable phthalate-free compound was identified. Samples were rapidly produced and sent out for evaluation. Upon testing, the client confirmed that the grips were a perfect match—offering both the performance and aesthetic they were seeking.
“We find the phthalate-free version to be more flexible, soft, and grip-friendly. It also has a nice gloss and depth in its colour.”
