Orion Safety Belts are UK's leading Safety Belt Manufacturer, working with some of the biggest names of Coach Builders and School Bus Companies there are. They have been running for over 30 years and began trading in 2002. The business began as a one man band and has since grown and developed into a group of businesses. At Orion they manufacture anything seat belt related; including safety belts, seatbelts, seatbelt repairs within all manner of industries including vehicle transport, wheelchairs, ambulances and fire trucks. They have even gone as far as dog leashes and leads. As well as manufacturing these items they also assemble them, and once completed are sent back to the clients as their own bespoke items. All of the belts are safety critical components and much design and planning goes into the finished item, because the end result could potentially save lives so they need to be perfect. The team work to technical drawings to get the best end result, as the items are niche and specialist to that specific client.
Currently they have Chris - Operations Manager and Steven - Managing Director dealing with the day to day running's of the business. Both have been with the business for under a year so are offering a fresh and new approach to the industry!
Sinclair & Rush provide Chris and the team at Orion with a few components but predominantly it is the Three Ribbed Sleeve we supply them, and this is a custom item. Our sleeve goes where the seatbelt will clip into. As the seatbelt itself is only made of fabric, it has a higher chance of ripping which would be a massive safety risk. The Sleeve offers protection and despite only being a small part of the overall product, it is a critical part. It is the element that ensures the belt is highly safe and able to protect the individuals in the vehicle. The seatbelt material can fray naturally, or from being interfered with, so our VDM Sleeve essentially prolongs the life of the belt and its need for a replacement. Our sleeve has had to undergo safety checks to ensure it is compliant with Orion's customers requirements.
