Sinclair & Rush a Responsible Manufacturer

Worldwide focus on environmental responsibility

Global Environmental Responsibility

Across each branch of Sinclair & Rush, worldwide, it really is important to us to be protecting our environment as best as we can. Naturally being a manufacturer of plastic and other raw materials, some waste is inevitable, but this in itself is why we strive (even harder!) to do as much as we can. It is a conscious effort to analyse our current processes and make them as environmentally friendly as possible! It is so important to protect the planet we are in and all of us must do our bit to contribute, especially those in the plastics business.

We want to share with you the environment protection methods that we have in place at Sinclair and Rush so here it is as follows...

  • Constant analysis of raw materials used in production to meet regulations such as being ISO 14001 compliant.
  • Use of recyclable materials in production of final consumer packaging.
  • We have begun an Environmental Committee head up by Millie in our Accounts Team, this Eco loving group of people work together to create a greener way of doing things!
  • Automated e-mail invoicing will reduce paper waste in the form of envelopes and creates a postage savings that can be used towards other green resources.
  • Remote working for office staff post-pandemic has remained which has reduced running costs such as electric bills and paper usage for example, which in turn has helped the environment.
  • For those still working onsite, we have shred-it bins throughout the buildings, which when full, are returned and recycled by the companies who collects them.
  • Our new Return & Recycle Scheme within schools means we are recycling the old chair feet once replaced with new.
  • Energy efficient bulbs replace the old ones that used a lot of electricity.
  • Cardboard is collected in the factory and warehouse to be hauled away for recycling.
  • Expansion of raw materials offered to give customers more options.
  • All cured PVC waste is separated and sold to a company that upcycles the material.
  • 99% of PETG is recycled inhouse.
  • Injection moulded sprues are ground down and sold off for upcycling.
  • Other waste is sorted by ISO compliant companies.
  • Non-recyclable waste is managed by reputable companies (hazardous waste).
  • Energy usage is monitored within the company, with constant efforts to reduce where possible.
  • We source our electricity and gas supply from renewable energy companies.
  • Packaging supplies from external sources are reused where possible
  • We have multiple other waste streams outside of raw materials that will be recycled
      • WEEE waste (electrical equipment)
      • Batteries
      • Aerosol cans
      • Fluorescent tubes
      • Ink cartridges

Protecting our environment in whatever way we can really is at the heart of what we do. It is also something that is constantly evolving for us at Sinclair & Rush so we are adding to and improving this list all the time.
