We are thrilled to announce that Sinclair & Rush has initiated the process to become a Certified B Corporation (B Corp), underscoring our commitment to ethical and sustainable business practices.
Understanding B Corp Certification
A Certified B (Benefit For All) Corporation is a for-profit company that meets high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. The certification process evaluates a company's impact across five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. To achieve certification, a company must complete the B Impact Assessment and attain a minimum score of 80 out of 200 points that’s independently verified by the not-for-profit B Lab UK. This assessment examines various aspects of a company's operations, including supply chain practices, employee benefits, and community engagement.

Our Collaborative Efforts
We started our work over the past 9 months, collaborating with Matt Letley, Founder & Project Director from Impact For Good, and Nicky Leach, Founder and CEO of The Spiral Hub. They visited our Head Office to coach us through the B Impact Assessment, helping us identify our current strengths and areas for improvement to meet the certification requirements.
Team Engagement and Progress
To effectively address the five impact areas, we assembled a core team at S&R to gather relevant evidence that demonstrates our adherence to B Lab’s high social & environmental standards. Our initial assessment (without any changes) demonstrates our current efforts achieved an unverified baseline score of 30% above the minimum requirement! This has been great for team morale and reflects our ongoing dedication to ethical and sustainable operations.
As part of B Corp Month this March, Ellie from Marketing and Millie from Accounts attended the B Corp Impact Summit at the stunning Hayne House in Saltwood. The event brought together certified B Corps, businesses on their B Corp journey (just like us!), and those eager to learn more about the movement.
The summit featured insightful talks from inspiring speakers who shared their experiences in creating positive working environments and the challenges they’ve faced in running ethical businesses. A key theme was the importance of building an invested workforce for long-term sustainability, ensuring that ethical values are embedded from the top down—starting with recruitment.
The day was packed with engaging workshops, interactive discussions, and even some fun icebreakers! It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and gain fresh perspectives on our own B Corp journey.

Next Steps
Our focus is to compile sufficient evidence to validate our Business Impact score. Additionally, we’re exploring opportunities to implement new practices that align with B Corp principles, further enhancing our positive impact. We have ambitions to achieve B Corp certification by August, pending successful completion of the remaining requirements.
Mark Osborn, Managing Director at Sinclair & Rush:
"Becoming B Corp Certified will be a remarkable achievement for the entire team at Sinclair & Rush. Our team is working diligently to gather the necessary evidence and showcase how we operate as a UK manufacturer. I am incredibly proud of the dedication and commitment of everyone at S&R."
Commitment to Impact Areas within B Corp
Our journey toward B Corp certification has provided us with valuable insights into our processes and highlighted the exceptional efforts of our team—we applaud each and every one of them!
This experience has given us the opportunity to reflect on the many ways Sinclair & Rush already contributes to the key impact areas outlined by B Corp, from community engagement to environmental responsibility, employee well-being and of course our customers!
From a community perspective, we actively support charitable initiatives in various ways, giving back to causes that matter. When it comes to environmental impact, we are committed to minimising waste and maximising sustainability. We own a patented PETG recycling machine that processes clear tube waste and work with a plastics brokerage to ensure our other plastic waste is responsibly recycled. Beyond this, we are always exploring innovative ways to repurpose materials and improve efficiency within the plastics industry.
At the core of our business is our people. Our HR Manager is dedicated to employee well-being, ensuring our team has access to extensive support and benefits. As an organisation, we continuously look for ways to enhance the workplace experience and provide meaningful opportunities for our employees to thrive.
Matt Letley, Founder & Project Director at Impact For Good:
"It is truly inspiring to work with an organisation so passionate about doing things the right way. The team at Sinclair & Rush has the energy, drive, and commitment needed to achieve certification, and I look forward to continuing to guide them on this journey."
To finish, we are excited to continue working closely with Impact for Good through our weekly progress meetings, ensuring we stay on track with gathering and submitting the necessary evidence for B Corp certification. We can’t wait to share more updates as we move forward on this journey—stay tuned as we take steps toward becoming a certified force for good in business!
