2020 - A Year in Review!

2020 was a strange year for us at Sinclair & Rush, just as it has been for much of our population. However, whilst it has been difficult and has put many barriers in the way, we thought it would be positive to look back at how even in the most difficult of years, our company and team members did what we could, to give back to the community.

As January and February occurred, everything was happening as usual. It wasn’t until March that it was clear the year wasn’t going to pan out as simply as years gone by. The 16th March saw our office teams working their last shift at the office before moving to homeworking on the 17th March. Our Production and Despatch teams remained on-site at both locations to continue to deliver our critical services.

In April and May, Sinclair & Rush received an increase of orders for direct and indirect supplies for NHS equipment manufacturers. This solidified our standing as an Essential Manufacturer and every member of our team worked harder than ever, in unprecedented circumstances, to prioritise NHS linked orders to ensure there were no delays.

Initially, the team were unsure of the duration for these restrictions, however, this didn’t stop our teams from undertaking home-maintenance, art and charity projects during the first lockdown. We were blessed with fantastic weather very early in the year which meant several home-projects could be completed.

However, one member of our team took the initiative to use the time to give back. Jodie Helene, based in our Sales Team, signed up as an NHS First Responder Volunteer to ensure that vulnerable individuals in her local area could call on her for help should they have required it. In addition to this, she also spent the remaining time manufacturing her own facemasks and scrubs for NHS workers. We still look back on this and appreciate just how hard Jodie worked at this time – what a fantastic person!

We then saw the introduction of our own PPE Face Guard, the VisiGuard. This came at just the right time as many establishments were instructed to cover their faces to protect against COVID-19. Being the creative company we are, we encouraged our team members to take this product and brighten them up. This gave inspiration to many others who have since decorated their Visiguards to be less scary to younger children.

In addition to the above, Sinclair & Rush gave back again when local sports resumed. We sponsored a local football team by paying for their football kit. This saw the introduction of our CSR programme, Sinclair & Rush in the Community, something which we are very keen to level up when we enter more certain and unrestricted times.

We think you will agree that throughout the year, Sinclair & Rush maintained a professional, consistent and dedicated service to ensure that we could help where we were able to. As always, we are in awe of our team members of their willingness to adapt to uncertain circumstances. Here’s to a much steadier 2021.
